Virus scanning

Uploaded files are checked for viruses before anyone can open them.

Files uploaded to Brigg are checked for viruses before anyone can open, download or read them — you, your colleagues and the agent. That covers files you upload, attachments in email and web chat, and files the agent fetches.

While a file is being checked

The check usually takes a few seconds. If you open the file before it is done, Brigg waits until it is ready and then opens it.

When a file is stopped

The file gets a note in the list:

  • Blocked: malware found — Brigg found malware. Nobody can open the file, and it is deleted after 30 days.
  • Could not be virus-scanned — the file could not be checked, for example because it is password-protected. Only the person who uploaded it can download it. The agent cannot read it.
  • Waiting for virus scan — the check did not finish. Brigg tries again on its own.

If you think it is wrong

Tell Brigg, for example by asking the agent to report it. Brigg can check the file again. We never open the file itself to judge it.
